The Montrose Auto Group Selects AutoRevo to Manage Inventory and Increase Their Online Visibility

AutoRevo’s Internet Marketing Platform Provides Vehicle Management System and Micro Sites for Montrose Dealerships

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AutoRevo, the premier provider of on-demand software for automotive dealerships marketing and selling cars online, today announces an agreement with The Montrose Auto Group, based in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, to provide their cutting-edge online marketing solution and micro sites for Montrose dealerships.

The Montrose Auto Group elected to pilot AutoRevo’s Internet Marketing Platform for two months at their Toyota and Kia locations – the benefits were overwhelming and the success instantly realized. In an effort to become a more viable point of origin for consumers from an internet perspective, the group immediately elected to enhance their relationship with AutoRevo and adopt micro sites at every location.

“AutoRevo is one of the most innovative leaders in the automotive industry; they understand the cross between the automotive and web worlds extremely well,” stated Vinny Maculaitis, Director of Marketing for The Montrose Auto Group. “In an effort to touch the consumer in a more timely fashion, it is our goal to eventually implement AutoRevo’s Internet Marketing Platform at all of our dealerships. This will turn our units a lot quicker for more gross profit!”

AutoRevo’s industry leading integration tool, OnePoint, seamlessly displays the group’s inventory on their websites and all third-party providers. This allows the group to market their inventory much quicker than in the past. The micro sites provided to each location enables them to uniquely target consumers, increase exposure and drive more targeted traffic.

“It’s a pleasure to be working with such a professional organization. We established a great relationship managing their eBay business, but now we’ve taken it to the next level,” stated Bill Berry, AutoRevo’s National Sales Director. “Our marketing platform enables The Montrose Auto Group to more effectively manage their inventory and daily operations.”

Slash Cost and Get Better Results

Posted by Chad Polk  |  Best Practices, Marketing  |  Friday November 21, 2008 at 10:25 am

The Do-It-Yourself internet marketing in the automotive industry has been on the rise over the last 12 months.  And in the last 2 months it is on fire!

What is DIY Internet Marketing?  Dealers taking their own photos, writing their own descriptions, and automatically posting them online (with AutoRevo of course).  Every time I see a well run internet department and do further investigation they are doing their own internet marketing.  Why outsource your strength? In business you commoditize your compliments.  Lot services are no longer a compliment to your core business.  Managing internet listings from step one is your core business!

In a recent article in Auto Remarketing entitled Know When to Say No with Internet Marketing, David Kain of Kain Automotive Group has two great quotes:

“I would recommend taking your own photos to ensure the vehicles are represented exceptionally online.”

“…With online classified sites you need a trio of things in place to get good results: quality photos, unique descriptions and on the market pricing.  If you cannot do all three well you will be wasting your money.”

Have you ever found a lot services company that can take enough quality photos to make your dealership a top internet performer?  I haven’t found one that can do any better than average photos.

What is holding dealerships back?  It’s pretty simple: spend thousands per month ($25k/year) and get average results vs. spend hundreds ($6k/year) and get exponential results.

You decide.

AutoTrader Tests New Online Trade-in Tool

Posted by Chad Polk  |  Industry News  |  Wednesday November 12, 2008 at 9:14 am

I don’t usually repurpose content, but I thought this was interesting considering a few factors:

AutoRemarketing article: http://www.autoremarketing.com/ar/news/story.html?id=8697

  1. Everyone wants to go at CarMax and how they source vehicles through trade-ins.
  2. A recent start up, CarOffer.com, came out with this offering in partnership with PepBoys.
  3. This may be a very good play for AutoTrader and its dealers with consumers holding on to their vehicles in this economy.

Give Yourself Time to Think

Posted by Chad Polk  |  Best Practices  |  Saturday November 1, 2008 at 9:49 am

I am challenged every week with a mountain of tasks/projects and the thought of the projects just waiting on me in the future can be paralyzing.  As I am around dealers who are constantly on the go, tasking everyday with more and more to do I wanted to share one of my routines that calibrates me into a mental focus and allows for reasonably accomplishing tasks.

Give Yourself Time to Think

That’s right.  Time to think.  Carving out time almost daily to do nothing but think.  Close down your email, turn off your cell phone, put the desk phone on Do Not Disturb, and just think.  I’ll even grab a pad of paper and pen to randomly write down subjects that pop in my head.  This is also referred to as mind mapping.  A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea.

Another practice that I have is to pick a topic of high priority or maybe it’s rolling over and over in my head for days and pause to think over that topic.  At some point I will have all the information I can possibly have on it and it is time to just think it through.  You may not come away with an action item or list, but you will give your mind time to focus on what your next step would be.  I know associates will walk past my office at times and think I’m crazy standing for a bit doing nothing.  Really, I’m not daydreaming, but probably thinking out a topic whether big or small.

A final common practice I have to share is Saturday mornings.  Saturday mornings at the office for me are a time to collect my thoughts, follow-up on open items, and tee-up my coming week.  Many times my wife will ask me what I have to do this Saturday at the office.  My response is “I don’t know yet”, which usually translates as I need to just spend time thinking.  My dad always said “successful people do things unsuccessful people do not”.  I believe Saturday mornings are one sliver of what inches us closer to defining ourselves as successful.  Why?  Because you go into the week with a game plan, objectives, and strategy to be successful that week.  Let me be clear….this doesn’t need to be just about business.  Focusing mental energy on your marriage, children, friends, etc all feeds into your success in life.

Find whatever works for your life routine and carve out that time to think.  Even put it on your calendar!
